夏だ!花火だ!BOW祭り
Hi ! I’m Shrine Concierge, Ayumi
I’ve just started my blog on cool Japanese shrines.
When making a new start, it is recommended we visit “Kashima Jingu”.
Passing through a “Torii Gate” means you are entering a sacred space.
We should bow once before entering a Tori Gate.
It is also believed the center of a path is one for “Kamisama”.
-Japanese gods and goddesses-, so please give way to “Kamisama”.
Kashima Jingu, Ibaraki
Deers welcome you
Kashima Jingu covers a fairly large area. It is, indeed.
There are many big trees in the precinct of the shrine and
the atmosphere is so serene.
the big gate being called “Romon”
the main building of the shrine
the main building of the shrine taken from a different angle
the pathway gets to the “Okunomiya” (or “Okumiya”) shrine.
“Okunomiya” here was once used as the main building of the shrine,
but when a new shrine was built, the old one was moved to the current location.
The pathway is surrounded by woods with wonderfully clean air.
Just feel it
“Kanameishi” (a spirit rock) is buried deeply in here.
It is believed that “Kanameishi” holds down a big catfish
causing earthquakes. ↑ ↓

“Kamisama” -Japanese gods and goddesses- here (Kashima Jingu) is well known as one of martial arts or sword.
Mitarai Ike (Ike = pond) 400,00 litre of spring water daily comes out.
Thank you for visiting.
See you
